Natalie Grant will be leading Sunset Christian Center in worship once again this Sunday in both the 9a & 10:45a services. Natalie is also thrilled to let her Sunset family know that her latest and greatest “revolution” is to announce her second pregnancy with husband/producer Bernie Herms. This will be Natalie’s third child, following the birth of the couple’s twins Bella & Gracie in 2007.
Throughout the world, Natalie is known for her breathtaking vocal abilities, her heart-gripping lyrics, charismatic performances and fearless work to help victims of human trafficking. As host of the recent 2010, 41st Annual GMA Dove Awards, Natalie performed the powerful song, “Human,” from her upcoming project, a duet with American Idol winner, Jordin Sparks, who co-wrote the song with Jason Ingram and Dan Muckula.
With a growing passion to use her worldwide platform to help young women, largely due to her heart for her own daughters, Natalie is not only passionate about ending human trafficking, but puts her own feet and hands to work supporting this cause. In 2005, Natalie created The Home Foundation to raise awareness and financial support and since then, it has grown considerably, now with a dedicated staff & numerous volunteer workers. Focusing on restoration, The Home Foundation now works in over 6 countries, partnering with those actively involved in rescue and helps to provide shelters of hope & freedom. Natalie’s desire to motivate a heart for justice in the next generation is also being realized through the foundation’s college internship program, in which students are sent for 4 to 8-week internships, equipping them to make this effort their life’s work.
Over the past four years, Natalie has gained prominence as a major contemporary Christian singer and songwriter, breaking out in a powerful way with her signature song, “Held.” She was awarded the Gospel Music Association’s Female Vocalist of the Year in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. Since 2001, she has released four albums entitled, “Stronger” (2001), “Deeper” (2003), “Awaken” (2005) and “Relentless” (2008).
Please feel free to leave in the comment box below your well wishes for Natalie and her family as they welcome their third child later this year.
